5:30-5:45 Welcome, snacks, updates and consensus process brief explanation                     SGA Sustainability Committee Meeting - brainstormed different ideas that people had to improve sustainability - SGA is very supportive of the bill - discussed motion sensor lighting, energy conservation in buildings - can’t approve green fee this year with no president, maybe next year TEAM Buzz Community Service Project Update - consisted of multiple projects working with Lyndsey Street Baptist Church (community gardening at Magnolia Park, rain barrel making, planting at the church, clean up with English Avenue neighborhood assoc.) Status of Bike Program - will be space in CRC parking deck - 70 abandoned bikes are turned over to us by housing - ORGT will check out bikes next year - need volunteers for advertising, fixing up and painting the bike Green Fees Conference Call -         had one yesterday, more coming up -         informational Others? -         Meeting with Marcia Kinstler about energy/water conservation scheduled (SGA) -         Real Food Challenge campaign coming up, would like to participate in the challenge through the sustainable food committee, opportunity to bring new ideas for SODEXHO; commitments: want a press release from us about September’s food action happenings at Tech (CSA), get other universities involved through regular conference calls, help with their actions as they go along (vote passes) 5:45-6:10 Group Discussion               Lecture Series -         poor attendance at the last one -         time conflicts (move to other times/days) -         next lecture is about livestock -         Got $400 to get a Southface speaker, need a better turnout o       Brainstorm: - Food: primarily been getting food from in-kind donations, but these options are running low; maybe do a pot-luck (in conjunction with the vegetarian society)? - Have meetings either before or after lectures, or alternate meetings and lectures together - task force between Liam, Nell, and Carlos for outreach/marketing Meeting and Event Promotion             -     tabling during CSA -         chalking on Skiles -         flyering -         Promoting SOS through outside events -         Working group to promote SOS - Solar-powered concert (Molly will be program coordinator) to promote SOS and fundraise   6:10-6:40 Breakout Sessions                       Choose groups (below are suggestions, other groups and subgroups may be formed) Energy Overall Strategies (No New Coal, Student Projects, Campus Efficiency, etc. Individual Projects (Solar Hot Water, Biodiesel Production, Micro-Hydro, Living Roofs, etc Funding (Revolving Loan Fund, Green Fees, Grants, etc.) Food       Sustainable Dining Committee Meetings       ATL in Your Mouth       Community Gardening Education       K-12 Outreach Program       Campus Awareness       Social and Environmental Justice Issues Campus Clothing Swap       Logistics (location, date and time, exchange process, etc.)       Promotion and involving the entire campus Recycling   6:40-6:45 Report Backs - what was discussed/decided in each group?   Food – multiple projects getting worked on -         ATL in your mouth for freshman students eating better foods (need work group for that) -         Flow documentary, Tuesday, afterwards have a talk with attendees about food -         CSA tomorrow (12-4) Recycling -         freshman dorms, collaboration with recycling department to help expand -         single-stream recycling for halls -         additional waste bin in dorms (people use recycling and waste bin for trash) -         contest for paper recycling (easiest to recycle, but most often not recycled) Education/Outreach - Energy -         green fees, revolving loan funds (initial invest from students/companies/etc. to make the campus more efficient; when savings are made from power savings, the money goes back to the fund; at other universities as well (Harvard) -         National Wildlife Reservation grants (micro-hydro, solar panels, solar hot water, closed loop food systems) -             6:45-7:00 Upcoming Events and Volunteer Opportunities "FLOW: for the love of water" Documentary Screenings Oct. 1 (Klaus 1456, 6pm), 2 (3pm Student Center Theater) and 7 (Tuesday, 5:30-7, Klaus 1456) Dr. Ron Broglio "Reflections on Livestock's Long Shadow" Lecture Thurs.
