Twenty members of SOS and EAGT took a trip to join more than 12,000 young people from all across the U.S. (and around the world) in Washington, D.C. February 27 - March 2 to demonstrate our support for implementing federal policies that will help our country progress from dependence on foreign fossil fuels to 100% clean energy, from a struggling economy to the creation of millions of green jobs and from a national government that is inactive on environmental issues to one that is a world leader on issues such as global climate change. The conference included keynote speakers like Nancy Pelosi, workshops, musical performances and an opportunity for attendees to speak face to face with their representatives in national government about the most pressing issues facing our generation. Despite some unexpected winter weather, the trip was a huge success and lots of fun for everyone who attended! For more details about the conference please visit the PowerShift 2009 website.
