On Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 8:30 to 9:30pm, Atlanta and Georgia Tech participated in Earth Hour for the second year in a row. SOS worked with EAGT to turn off as many lights as possible in classroom buildings on campus. We also attended the Blackout Party hosted by Freshman Council and City Councilman Kwanza Hall. We would like to thank those individuals and businesses who participated in this peaceful public demonstration against wasteful energy consumption and global climate change. It is especially inspiring to see Georgia Tech's Freshman Class taking the initiative to lead our campus in sustainability efforts. Keep up the good work!
